How Do I Reset or Change My Password?

This guide explains how to reset a forgotten password from the login screen or how to change an existing password while you are signed into the EVCS app.

Please note that the password management features are only available via the EVCS mobile application.


Reset Your Password (Signed Out)

To reset your password when signed out:

  • Open the EVCS mobile app.
  • Tap on Forgot your password?
  • Enter your email address. Make sure to enter the same email address you used to sign up.
  • Check your email inbox for an email from EVCS with the subject Reset EVCS App Password. If you did not receive it, check your spam folder.
  • Tap on the Change Password link within the email.
  • Enter your new password on both fields and tap on "Reset Password". Please note: You must enter at least 8 characters.

Change Your Password (Signed In)

If you know your EVCS password but would like to change it to something new:

  • Open the EVCS app.
  • Click Profile > Account Details.
  • Click the Password button.
  • Type your existing password.
  • Type the new password you would like to update it to, then re-enter the new password to confirm.
  • Click the Save button.

Single Sign-On (SSO) Users

If you originally signed up for EVCS using one of the Google, Apple, or Facebook authentication buttons, the password reset option will not work for you as there is no EVCS account password.

 

You will need to go back to the sign-in page, click Log in and then click the button associated with the authentication method you used originally to create your EVCS account. This will prompt you to sign in to your Google, Apple or Facebook account to complete the authentication.


Tips for Creating a Strong Password

  • Combine uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols
  • Steer clear of easily guessed words or sequences
  • Aim for a password that is at least 8-12 characters long
